We sent our resident food expert aboard Vista to try the food (with pictures!)
It’s been a while since I’ve been on board an Oceania Cruises ship due to the pandemic, so I was incredibly excited to spend a few days on board their new ship, Oceania Vista. As the Panache Cruises resident foodie, I’m always excited to sail with this cruise line. With the introduction of a brand new restaurant; Ember, my excitement was off the scale!
Thankfully, Oceania Cruises delivered as ever.
I ate first in probably my favourite venue, Toscana.
There is just something so inviting about Italian food and I really enjoy the whole experience here. The waiters are so passionate about what they are serving, it really brings the dining experience to life. There have been some wonderful additions to the menu in Toscana since I was last on board, but my firm favourite is always the gorgonzola topped fillet – it’s just perfect!
Top tip in here, try not to fill up on the freshly baked bread, oils and balsamic vinegar; the desserts are well worth saving a bit of space for.

Next it was the turn of Polo Grill and some of the best intuitive service I’ve had in a very long time. Incredible wines served with perfectly cooked steak – what’s not to love?!
We bumped into an old friend on board too and they even managed to rearrange our reservation last minute to make sure we could all dine together. Set some time aside for this meal – there’s a lot of choice and you certainly don’t want to miss out.
For this trip, we saved the best till last: Ember.
Here I ate the most amazing ribs I’ve ever tasted with a slight Asian twist. Without question though my favourite dish was the Lobster Mac ‘n’ Cheese, all presented beautifully in a wonderful setting. The venue is stunning with what looks like a roaring fire wall set in the middle, plenty of tables for two or to share and a very sophisticated, yet homely feel.
There are still the Oceania staples on board too – The Grand Dining Room, Red Ginger, Terrace Café, Waves Grill and the new addition of Aquamar kitchen all make for foodie heaven.
Although a short cruise, it totally reinvigorated my love for the food on board Oceania Cruises. The attention to detail, the passion of all of the staff really shines through and I can honestly say each and every meal was faultless. Good job there’s a gym on board!
