Everyone has their favourite type of wine. Whether that’s red, white, rose or a bit more specific a Pinot or Merlot. Perhaps you prefer sipping Spanish wine, entertaining with a bottle of Argentinian or treating yourself to a case from Australia.
Wine producing is a fast-growing market here in the UK but until we are well established, why not explore the many beautiful wine producing regions around the world, many of which you can visit during a luxury and ultra-luxury cruise. I have been fortunate enough to visit some of these and I would like to share my experiences with you.
I recently sailed onboard Seabourn Ovation and one of my favourite areas of the ship was The Retreat on deck 12.
What is it?
The Retreat is an exclusive area on deck 12 of Seabourn Ovation & Encore with private cabanas, a hot tub and areas for alfresco dining. Its perfect for that VIP experience or to have the ultimate privacy for a day at sea.
I have been to Greece many times but only to the islands and my first visit to the mainland did not disappoint. Athens is a beautiful, vibrant city with so much to see and do. I decided to fly in a couple of days before my cruise to see as much of Europe’s oldest capital city as possible.
There are plenty of excellent hotels and accommodation options in Athens and the city is really well connected via metro links. I opted for an apartment that had a rooftop terrace with a fantastic view of the Acropolis which is even better at night when it illuminates the city below.
