The ultra-luxury cruise line has partnered with a company who shares the goal of preserving the environment: JUST ONE TREE, a company who plants a tree roughly every 38 seconds across the world from Brazil to Peru and Kenya to many, many more.


It’s so important for cruise lines to take environmental issues into account. Scenic emphasises the importance of protecting our ecosystem throughout their business, while promoting action and supporting sustainability campaigns—this is yet another step in the right direction.

Trees are planted with the aim to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and to increase our chance of survival. Trees help the environment in a multitude of ways, helping filter our drinking water, stabilising our soil for biodiversity to flourish and to help, aiding the formation of complex new ecosystems and of course, transforming Co2 into oxygen to help us breathe easy.

In order to protect and renew marine ecosystems, Scenic pledge to plant a tree for every September booking aboard the Scenic Eclipse!

Scenic is at the forefront of environmentally-friendly ultra-luxury cruising.

They have reduced 95% of its single-use plastic aboard its fleets, as well as implementing a programme called Cherish the Planet which works towards offering at least one sustainable shore excursion on each river cruise. The programme “reinforces Scenic’s commitment to environmentally responsible tourism and protecting the places and communities we visit”.

With the aim of preserving the environment, Scenic continue to design and operate their ships in a more sustainable manner. This will ultimately reduce the impact of fuel consumption on the environment and will decrease the damage caused to marine life and endangered ecosystems.
