It seems that every other conversation I have nowadays is all about ‘where’s your next holiday?’ ‘what have you got booked this summer?’ and with my work colleagues, there’s no exception.

Polar fever..?

My bucket list cruise has to be Antarctica. Every customer has told me it's the most incredible place they have been; to see such isolation and stark scenery would be out of this world. I would like to try the ice plunge, knowing I have a hot drink and a warm robe waiting for me immediately after. The opportunity to do something so out of my comfort zone would just be incredible. Plus, seeing thousands of penguins in their colonies on the Antarctic Peninsula or South Georgia would be amazing!

My ultimate bucket list cruise would be Antarctica, mainly because of the abundance of wildlife. After my amazing cruise around the Galapagos Islands last year, I have a new appreciation for seeing such beautiful endemic creatures in their natural habitat. My dream would be to get up and close to the various different species of penguins and hopefully have a whale encounter. I think I would probably cry if I experienced this! I would love to do this on a luxury ship so that after a long, cold day of participating in excursions, there would be nothing better than hopping into a hot tub and enjoying a glass of wine with stunning views of icebergs all around.

For my ultimate bucket list cruise, I would also have to say it’s 100% Antarctica! The amazing wildlife that you can’t see anywhere else in the world and the opportunity to do so many fun outdoor activities in a place that is vastly untouched would be amazing. I have also promised myself that I would not say no to any experience if I got to go on an Antarctica cruise - that includes doing the freezing polar plunge!

A Mekong river cruise is high on my bucket list because I would love to experience the mix of cultures throughout Southeast Asia. I have travelled to the region before but the chance to experience it on a luxury cruise and get involved with the cruise excursions would be really immersive. I also love that a lot of the cruise lines which operate along the Mekong give back to local communities and really show the authentic, everyday life of the local people.

Hawaii has always been at the top of my travel bucket list and I recently discovered the most amazing cruise itinerary which visits these beautiful volcanic islands! Ever since I was young, Hawaii’s beaches, mountains, and culture have interested me and to hop around the different islands and soak up their beauty would be a dream come true. The itinerary I would love to experience is aboard Explora Journeys’ brand-new ship EXPLORA I - getting to cruise Hawaii on such a luxurious cruise ship would be the experience of a lifetime.

Olivia Edwards

My bucket list cruise would be along the River Nile. I studied archaeology at university and the opportunity to see the Pyramids, Sphinx, Luxor Temple, and learn more about Ancient Egypt would be fascinating. I would love to combine the element of adventure and exploration with the opportunity to relax on the ship’s sun deck and admire otherworldly views while sailing along the Nile.
