Silversea announces new addition to S.A.L.T. programme

Silversea's S.A.L.T. programme is a culinary programme designed to offer guests immersive culinary experiences centred around a destination's food, wine, and culture. S.A.L.T. stands for "Sea And Land Taste''.

The S.A.L.T. programme offers a range of experiences, including…

  • S.A.L.T. Kitchen: A restaurant on board that serves regionally- inspired dishes
  • S.A.L.T. Bar: A bar that features locally sourced spirits, wines, and cocktails
  • S.A.L.T. Lab: A space where guests can participate in culinary workshops.
  • S.A.L.T. excursions: Shore excursions that are focused on food and drink experiences.
  • S.A.L.T. Talks: Expert talks given by experts on topics related to food and wine.

The S.A.L.T. programme is designed to immerse guests in the local culture and cuisine of the destinations they visit, and to provide a unique culinary experience that goes beyond what is typically offered on a cruise.

Silversea has just announced a brand new S.A.L.T. experience.

Three Michelin-starred restaurant Mirazur, headed by renowned chef Mauro Colagreco, will join the S.A.L.T. programme. Guests aboard Silversea’s voyages will be able to experience the restaurant's culinary creations in two ports of call, Monte Carlo and Menton, during both 2023 and 2024. Colagreco's culinary style is closely intertwined with nature and sustainability, using locally-sourced and seasonal ingredients. He has been lauded for his relentless efforts to honour the environment, making Mirazur a highly anticipated addition to Silversea's S.A.L.T. programme.

What can we expect?

  1. A visit to the markets of Menton’s old town with an expert guide from Mirazur in groups of 12.
  2. Guests will then learn about baking traditions and ancient grains at Chef Colagreco’s artisanal bakery. See how it’s done from local artisanal bakers.
  3. Then onto Sanctuaries del Mirazur, five biodynamic vegetable gardens extending from the sea to the mountains. Try Menton’s famous lemons and 39 different varieties of tomato!
  4. Finish with a nine course tasting menu in Mirazur’s private tasting kitchen with dishes centred around bold dishes created with Chef Colagreco’s passion, vision, and Italo-Argentine heritage.
