Seabourn Pole to Pole Expedition 2027: The Ultimate Luxury Journey from the Arctic to Antarctica

What is Seabourn’s Pole to Pole Voyage?

What if you could experience the Arctic and Antarctica in a single journey? In 2027, Seabourn Venture makes that dream a reality with the 94-day Pole to Pole Grand Expedition. Sailing from the High Arctic, through the Caribbean, South America and down to Antarctica, this remarkable ultra-luxury voyage connects two of Earth's most remote regions in one seamless adventure.

Designed for travellers with a passion for exploration, the Pole to Pole Grand Expedition pairs Seabourn's renowned luxury with extraordinary access to the polar landscapes, rare wildlife encounters and unforgettable experiences that few people will ever witness.

Where does the Pole to Pole Voyage take you?

Departing Reykjavik on 17 August 2027, the voyage covers more than 20,500 nautical miles, crossing the Equator as it journeys through some of the world's most remote destinations. With 60 days of exploration in ports, 33 days at sea and visits across 14 countries, guests will enjoy a variety of landscapes, cultures and wildlife, while forming lasting connections with fellow travellers.

The journey begins in the High Arctic, exploring the wild landscapes of the legendary Northwest Passage and Ellesmere Island. Long associated with historic explorers, it winds through the remote Arctic waterways of northern Canada, where guests can witness vast ice fields, dramatic fjords, remote Inuit communities and wilderness rarely seen by travellers.

Zodiac exploration Greenland

From there, Seabourn Venture sails south through the warmer waters of the Caribbean and along the vibrant coastlines of South America with port calls at the sandy beaches of Barbados and the cultural city of Rio de Janeiro.

As the expedition reaches the Southern Ocean, the itinerary features three full days exploring the Falkland islands and another three along the coastlines of South Georgia. Home to vast king penguin colonies numbering in the hundreds of thousands, the island also provides dramatic glacier-carved landscapes, historic exploration sites and an abundance of seabirds and marine life.

The adventure comes to an end in Antarctica with five days of exploring the white continent, where towering icebergs and extraordinary wildlife create unforgettable moments. Only 0.02% of the world's population ever visits Antarctica, making it one of the rarest and most exclusive travel experiences available.

Can I do a shorter section of this journey?

Absolutely. While the full Pole to Pole Grand Expedition is an extraordinary 94-day voyage, Seabourn also offers many of the journey's most iconic regions as standalone expedition cruises. Guests can choose to explore a specific part of the world, whether that's the remote Arctic, the vibrant cultures of Central and South America, or the breathtaking landscapes of Antarctica, without committing to the entire voyage.

This flexibility allows travellers to enjoy the same world-class expedition experience aboard Seabourn Venture while tailoring the journey to their time and travel preferences.

What if I can’t make it in 2027?

Not to worry! Seabourn have already announced a second Grand expedition pole to pole for 2028 as part of their 40th anniversary celebration. With an identical itinerary to the 2027 grand voyage, this remarkable journey departs Reykjavik on the 16th August 2028 and is extended by  two days. From the Arctic's remote wilderness to Antarctica, it covers all the iconic destinations featured on the 2027 itinerary, offering guests another opportunity to experience this once in a lifetime experience.
