Unrivalled Norwegian experience!

Hurtigrutens Signature Voyage is more than just an ordinary fjords cruise, the 6-night voyage from Oslo to Tromso is an amazing Arctic adventure that indulges you in  breathtaking scenery, locally inspired cuisine, lively culture, and life-changing experiences.

Norway is more than just a place; it's a feeling. It's the calm splendour of fjords blanketed in snow, the sounds of sea eagles echoing off sheer cliff faces, and the wonder of seeing wildlife thrive at the edge of the globe.

Norway is more than just a location; it’s a unique sensation. It's the beauty of snow-covered fjords, the calls of sea eagles resonating off steep cliffs, and so much more. Sailing on the MS Trollfjord is an opportunity to experience a long-standing relationship between the land, the sea, and its people.

Shore Trips That Make Norway Come Alive

The shore excursions offered by Hurtigruten are expertly planned and were incredibly immersive experiences steered by experienced guides.

Lofoten: Speedboats & Sea Eagles

I participated in an exhilarating RIB and sea eagle safari in Svolvaer, which was a fast-paced journey through open waters and fjords. It was incredible to watch these amazing birds fly down only a few meters from our boat, and our local guides' observations made the trip much more memorable.

Eagle-safari

In Lindesnes, we ascended Norway’s oldest lighthouse, which dates all the way back to 1,656! We enjoyed a traditional Norwegian lunch whilst learning about the historical significance of the structure. After this we made our way to Under, Europe’s first underwater restaurant—a surreal experience where we had unreal seafood and even better views of marine life. Finally a visit to a local vineyard where we tried the owners favourite wines, this added a personal touch, highlighting Norway’s emerging food and wine scene!

Crossing the Arctic Circle: A Memorable Experience

On Day 4, we achieved a significant milestone—the moment we crossed the Arctic Circle, the invisible boundary that splits Norway into two-halves.

Hurtigruten celebrated this occasion in classic maritime style with a lively Arctic Circle ceremony. On the top deck, surrounded by fellow travelers and crew, we enjoyed shots, shared laughter, and even a splash of icy seawater but only for the daring. The ship’s horn sounded in celebration as we sailed past the globe monument on Vikingen islet, signifying our journey into the Arctic.

Elevated Arctic Dining

Back on the MS Trollfjord, you’ll find it’s not just a place to unwind but it’s also a culinary adventure in its own right.

Arran Steakhouse treated me to one of the finest burgers I’ve ever tasted—juicy, smoky, and the perfect reward after a day of exploring.

In the onboard restaurant Røst, the five-course tasting menu was my standout. The reindeer steak was rich and tender, beautifully complemented by wines that enhanced each dish.

Overall I had an overwhelmingly magical experience and would recommend this itinerary if you enjoy adventure, history and impressive food!
