Never one to shy away from a challenge, they’re taking it one step further with “Date Night, All Day Long” a brand-new initiative conceptualised especially for upcoming ship Celebrity Xcel. From new-to-line dining venues and the most expansive entertainment programme in the fleet, guests can enjoy ‘date night’ from sunrise to sunset, truly redefining romance at sea. 

From Brunch and Beyond

At the beating heart of this concept is Bora, a brand-new al fresco rooftop restaurant. This boozy brunch venue boasts panoramic ocean views, vibrant live music, a Mediterranean-inspired menu, and of course, a one-of-a-kind Bloody Mary bar, where guests can customise their own drinks.

Why not kick your day off with a delectable sharing plate for two? Bora offers breakfast staples like French toast and avocado on sourdough, as well as unique twists on the classics, with an elevated take on shakshuka eggs and a flavoursome croissant eggs benedict dish, among others—you’re sure to fall head over heels for their mouthwatering menu. 

Bora may be business in the day, but it’s party by night, transforming into an intimate starlit dinner venue once dusk falls. A host of Greek and Italian musicians will serenade diners as they tuck into seafood-led dishes including traditional fideos negros tostados with razor clams and seared branzino with garlic aioli. 

Now that’s what we call an aphrodisiac.

Exceptional Entertainment

…And the food is just the beginning. 

After dinner, an unforgettable night of entertainment awaits amorous guests, with three new plays set to be staged in the main theatre, as well as two interactive shows in The Club, all the work of Celebrity Cruises’ own team of creative visionaries. From world class singers and dancers to acclaimed parkour experts, these are performances designed to take your breath away, with LED screens, lasers, and kinetic lighting in place to create the most immersive experience possible.  

“Designed to create memorable moments of connection from morning to night, Celebrity Xcel will sail with our most expansive entertainment offering to date with over 75 resident performers – the most of any Celebrity ship,” shared Lisa Lehr, vice president of entertainment of Celebrity Cruises. “The offering is brand-new at every turn, from unforgettable new Theatre shows, new interactive shows in The Club and a variety of immersive parties and live music options; the choice is endless for guests to find their perfect match each and every night”. 

Party animals will enjoy onboard dance parties, ranging from glitzy 80s nights to country hoedowns, whilst couples in search of more tranquil pursuits may prefer singing along to classics in the Bar, or luxuriating in a romantic candlelit concert experience.

The 3,260-passenger Celebrity Xcel is due to set sail in November 2025, initially offering a range of Caribbean voyages from her homeport of Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale. Excitingly, the cruise line is offering guests the opportunity to have a say in key elements of the ship for the first time, as part of their ‘Dream Makers’ scheme. Open to any who wish to join, the Dream Makers are a global community of cruisers who are able to try, test and vote on all the little details needed to put the cherry on top of this incredible new ship.
