APT Redefine River Cruising with APT Solara and APT Ostara
The last word in comfort, style and flexibility, APT River Cruises’ innovative approach to luxury river travel has earned them a loyal following in the cruising world.
Last year, the line ushered in a new era with the launch of not one but two game changing vessels: APT Solara and APT Ostara. State-of-the-art, sumptuous and serene in equal measure, the sister ships sail routes along the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers and represent an entirely new generation of vessel for APT.

No stone has been left unturned in pursuit of creating a true ‘home-away-from-home’. Every last detail has been meticulously curated by Australian design house Hecker Guthrie to reflect both the classical European influences of the ships’ ports and the riverside landscapes which change in tandem with the seasons. Whether you opt for an entry level Twin Window Suite, a daylight-drenched French Balcony Suite or one of the lavish Owner’s Suites, complete with separate living area and vast private balcony, one thing is for certain—this unique blend of elegant modernity and European chic is unlike anything else on the waterways.

Outside of the accommodation, the ships’ public spaces and amenities are also something to behold, with a pool, fitness centre, spa treatment rooms, a fleet of ebikes for ashore use and seven different dining experiences.
Yes, you read that right. With such a varied array of dining venues, APT can now boast they have a wider selection than any other European river cruise line. The main dining room takes the form of The Salon, where guests can find freshly prepared, healthy cuisine morning, noon and night, as well as enchanting evening entertainment. Whilst The Salon pretty much has it covered when it comes to dining, guests who want to shake it up a bit can also enjoy fresh-off-the-grill Mediterranean fare at Daystar Dock and an intimate five-course tasting menu at the Owner’s Cellar or else pay a visit to Bistro Saison, which – as the name suggests – serves dishes inspired by classic European bistros.

Of course, we couldn’t talk about dining without touching upon the jewel in APT’s crown: The Grüner Bar and Dining. It’s no exaggeration to describe this restaurant as one of the most innovative things you’ll find on the rivers. Yes, it may have the cuisine and atmosphere of your favourite neighbourhood hole-in-the-wall, but we don’t think your local spot operates on a hydraulic system, lifting it up on to the Sun Deck for unparalleled sunset views.

On top of all this, guests sailing aboard APT Solara and APT Ostara will also find the little touches that have made the line so beloved, including an impressive guest-to-crew ratio, highly intuitive service, Freedom of Choice inclusions which allow guests to tailor their voyage to their liking and the Signature Experiences that provide APT guests with coveted insider access to some of Europe’s historical and cultural hotspots.
