Seabourn Quest Makes History With Biggest Ever Refurbishment
Not content with simply setting the standard for ultra-luxury cruising across the globe, Seabourn have recently set the bar even higher, sending the beloved Seabourn Quest to dry dock for the most extensive interior refurbishment in the line’s history. Public spaces, suites and dining venues have all been refreshed in line with Seabourn’s mission to provide the most cohesive, elevated experience fleetwide, whilst extending the lifespans of their ships.
Nowhere is this enhancement more pronounced than in The Club, Seabourn Quest’s dynamic hub. This popular pre-dinner-drinks-and-post-dinner-entertainment spot has been revamped, now resembling a chic Nork York speakeasy. Could there be a more perfect spot to sip martini with your new friends or to nibble hors d’oeuvres as a jazz band softly plays? We don’t think so. Club patrons can look forward to modern lighting fixtures and an all-new bar layout, as well as an updated configuration of the entire venue, for ease of movement between seating, entertainment spaces and the dance floor.

Head over to Seabourn Square – a.k.a. the ‘living room’ of the ship – and you’ll find a refreshed space, designed to feel even more warm and inviting, a true ‘home-away-from-home’, with new furniture and bistro-style seating. In the same vein, the Observation Bar has also been on the receiving end of a modern makeover, with updated lighting and décor.

Epicurean-minded passengers will be delighted to discover upgrades made to both the main dining venue and outdoor restaurant, The Colonnade, which have both received new flooring and furniture, whilst the latter also boasts an open service area, for live cooking demonstrations.
Over on the wellness side of things, guests can indulge in the ultimate R&R at The Spa, which has been given the refurbishment treatment with a new reception area and salon, contemporary design, ambient lighting and updated hydrotherapy amenities. In addition, the gym equipment has seen a complete overhaul, creating a more modern, inviting space for those wishing to work on their physical health whilst at sea.

And it’s not just Seabourn Quest’s public spaces that are sporting a whole new look.
Although her suites have only recently been fitted with custom-made drapery and designer furnishings, Seabourn have decided to go the extra mile and add plush carpeting and mattresses, as well as new veranda furniture for Penthouse and premium suites.

“Our goal was to create spaces that feel natural, intuitive and effortlessly comfortable for guests,” said Linh Nguyen, Senior Manager, Interior Design & Assets Management at Seabourn. “Rather than referencing a single destination, the design takes a broader approach, using materiality and scale to shape spaces that feel balanced, familiar and easy to experience.”
Throughout the ship, no stone has been left unturned when it comes to fostering a sense of cohesion and flow in the little details, with particular focus on the carpets which have been designed to mimic the beauty and movement of the ocean.

Something that is very important to Seabourn is sustainability and promoting responsible travel. With that in mind, they have taken significant steps to reduce waste. Though 20,000 square metres of old carpet have been removed from Seabourn Quest as part of her renovation, this is not sitting in landfill. Instead, it will enjoy a new life as carpet padding on a future Seabourn refurbishment project.
In a nutshell, Seabourn Quest has retained the spirit, style and undeniable sense of luxury that has made her beloved among Seabourn veterans, whilst entering a new era in line with the modern age of luxury cruising and newer additions to the fleet.
“This dry dock represents an investment that reflects our unwavering focus on elevating every aspect of the guest experience,” said Mark Tamis, President of Seabourn. “Seabourn Quest has always had a loyal following and we wanted to enhance the spaces where our guests spend their time on board, from the feel of their suite to the atmosphere of The Club in the evening, to ensure that they have the best experience at sea when they said on this beautiful ship.”
Fresh out dry dock, Seabourn Quest has resumed her Mediterranean season, sailing a chain of week-long voyages between Athens, Istanbul, Venice and Dubrovnik.
