Virgin Voyages: An Honest Q&A
Q: Hi Jen! Thanks for sitting down with us today. We’d love to know more about your personal experience with Virgin Voyages. Which ship did you sail on and where to?
A: I’ve sailed on the Resilient Lady on the 'Greek Island Glow' sailing and on the Valiant Lady out of Barcelona where the ship had an overnight stay in Ibiza which was very fun.
Q: What were your first impressions of Virgin Voyages?
A: Before I sailed I was expecting it to be loud in every sense, everything bright red and over the top. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I was greeted on board by the entertainment team with lively music to get everyone in the holiday mood. The vibe was unreal and the crew straight away was so warm and welcoming.

Q: What makes Virgin different to other cruise lines?
A: It is casual cruising with a twist – things you would pay a premium for with other cruise lines are all included, like the speciality dining. In that way, Virgin is kind of teetering on the edge of being a luxury cruise line in my opinion, but perhaps more affordable and accessible to most people.
Q: Is it really as ‘party hard’ as people think?
A: No I wouldn't say so, it's definitely a myth that they're just party cruises. It's actually got a great balance of casual luxury on board so it doesn't feel mainstream at all. There's a lot of space to chill out and relax, the double beds on the side of the main pool being my favourite. But if you want a party vibe, you can get that too. Whatever you're up for, you can really tailor any Virgin Voyage to your taste.
Q: Now we’ve heard all about how amazing the dining is on board. What was your favourite meal?
A: What you've heard is absolutely correct! There's to many to choose from – they were all amazing. The steak was definitely the best I've ever eaten at sea, while the experience in Gunbae — the Korean BBQ — restaurant was an experience in itself, it was so much fun.

Q: Was there a stand-out moment for you on board? Something that made you go WOW this is the new era of luxury cruising.
A: I can't pick just one moment as every meal was a stand-out, it just kept getting better and better! The choice of food on board in regard to the speciality dining in particular left me spoilt for choice. If you're a foodie you need to experience Virgin Voyages.
Q: Who would you say Virgin Voyages is for?
A: It might sound cheesy, but Virgin Voyages really is for everyone! If you want to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet, head to The Dock and enjoy a restful atmosphere. If you want to have some fun and dance your night away, then there's that option too! Whether you're an extrovert or an introvert, Virgin caters to literally every kind of traveller. It's also great for all ages. When I was on board there were people as young as 25/30 and then older guests too in their 70s.
