A Christmas Cruise to Remember

I had the pleasure of sailing on the TravelMarvel Vega, this was Friday until Monday so a perfect little weekend away , where I was well looked after and visited some lovely places along the way.

The sailing was Rudesheim to Amsterdam

Starting in Rudesheim we flew direct into Frankfurt nice and early in the morning as the ship was setting off whilst it was light, this was so we could get to see the Castles along the Rhine, this is a really pretty part of the Rhine with some fantastic views. The cruise director was very informative telling us all about the different castles along the way.

We sailed through the night and in the morning we arrived into Cologne. We had a fabulous guide who took us on a leisurely tour of the town, he explained about all the different Christmas markets , we enjoyed a complimentary glass of Mulled wine, you must try the white wine Mulled wine. After the tour we had the chance to explore the Christmas markets and enjoy the great atmosphere.

The ship was a short walk from the markets. We had a lovely captains dinner in the evening, 5 courses of delicious freshly prepared food before we went to the entertainments lounge for some dancing to the resident singers.

Sunday morning we arrived in Amsterdam , this was my favourite day. We had a boat round around Amsterdam, again the guide telling us all about the interesting places along the way. After the tour we sat outside a bar watching the world go by. Some of the ladies went to do a bit of Christmas shopping. The atmosphere in Amsterdam was wonderful and very pretty with all the Christmas decorations up.

The last night was a relaxing dinner and some light entertainment, followed by a relaxing breakfast before heading home. I really enjoyed my time on Travelmarvel, the food, service, entertainment and tours were wonderful and curated the most perfect weekend away to see the Christmas Markets.
