Seven Seas Navigator Leaving Regent Seven Seas

Luxury cruise line Regent Seven Seas announced this month that their much-loved ship, Seven Seas Navigator will leave The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet at the end of 2026.

Built in 1999, and renowned for its all-suite accommodations, highly personalised service, and deluxe amenities, Seven Seas Navigator has provided a home-away-from-home to countless Regent guests, creating lifelong memories in all corners of the globe.

Now, it is time for her next chapter.

Fans will be pleased to hear that Seven Seas Navigator is not bowing out of the cruising scene entirely. Following a dry dock renovation, she will continue to sail the ocean as the part of the Avora Residences' fleet, on a nine-year charter. She will be renamed 'Avora Lumina', taking her place as the flagship of a brand dedicated to providing luxurious residences at sea.

“Residential cruising has proven its viability,” said Mikael Petterson, Founder of Avora Residences. “Avora Lumina represents the next evolution — purpose-built for long-duration global living, expedition capability, and a more refined residential experience.”

Crucially, Avora have stated that they have no intentions of fully redesigning the vessel or stripping her of the unique style and charm that has made her so beloved for decades.

“Our philosophy is evolution, not disruption,” said Kathy Villalba, Co-Founder & CEO of Avora Residences. “Navigator has a soul — built through years of disciplined operations, experienced crews, and trusted relationships. We intend to honor that legacy while transforming the ship into a true long-term residential platform.”

Avora Lumina is set to launch in January 2028.

The future remains bright for Regent Seven Seas, and travellers have plenty to look forward to with two Prestige-Class newbuilds scheduled to join the fleet in 2026 and 2030 respectively.

“We have never been more excited about the future of the Regent Seven Seas Cruises brand,” a spokesperson for the line stated, noting that the new vessels bring “even more opportunities to see the world.”

According to Fincantieri, 2026’s Seven Seas Prestige will accommodate up to 850 guests in 434 suites, giving it one of the highest guest-to-space ratios in the industry.

“The ship will embody sophistication and refinement that is the epitome of timeless elegance, integrating the most advanced environmental technologies and introducing new accommodation categories, new dining experiences and many more incredible experiences for luxury travellers,” the shipyard added in its statement.
