Virgin Voyages Announces Sisters at Sea

If we know one thing about Virgin Voyages, it’s this: making history is all in a day’s work.

In fact, it’s almost hard to believe that there’s anything they haven’t already tried/achieved/pioneered but their latest announcement marks a first for the line.

Last month, Virgin founder Richard Branson announced that next year, all four of Virgin’s Lady Ships – Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady, Brilliant Lady and Scarlet Lady – will be united for the first time, in what is essentially the most exciting family reunion at sea since…well, ever really.

Yes, in February 2027, this stunning quartet will be taking to the sparkling cerulean waters of the Caribbean—together. Not staggered, not on a tightly controlled one-in-one-out timetable, but as Sisters, cresting the horizon in tandem.

Oh, and as if that wasn’t exciting enough, there’ll actually be a surprise fifth family member joining the party—and that’s none other than Richard Branson himself. You’ll find Virgin’s founder at the heart of the action, dipping in and out of the celebrations aboard all four Sisters. How will he get from ship to ship, you ask? Ah, well. You’ll have to wait and see…

Aside from the whole, ‘I-might-actually-get-to-meet-the-visionary-behind-one-of-the-world’s-most-impressive-vessels-whilst-celebrating-aboard-said-vessel’ thing, there are plenty of other reasons why Virgin aficionados might be itching to book, including never-before-seen collaborative entertainment, high-energy deck parties, surprise pop-ups, opportunities to mingle with likeminded travellers and a host of limited edition details, curated especially for the event.

Though cruisers return to Virgin Voyages again and again for a multitude of reasons (not least the food, let’s be honest) one of the real draws is the sense of community, built around an unerring commitment to letting their hair down and having new experiences whilst indulging in a touch of luxury. The Sisters at Sea event is set to reflect this, giving a little something back to their Sailors and serving as the ultimate visual representation of how far they’ve come as a cruise line.

Virgin Voyages are calling this a ‘once-in-a-shiptime’ event and to be honest, we couldn’t have put it better ourselves.

So, how exactly will this work?

Essentially, each Lady Ship will be sailing the Caribbean on a ‘Sisters at Sea’ voyage at the same time, albeit with different start/end dates, durations and itineraries. In the midst of it all, the four ships’ paths will converge and then it’s time to get the party started.

RESILIENT LADY

Kicking things off in the party city of Miami – on the most romantic day of the year, no less – Resilient Lady will be embarking on a week-long sun-drenched escapade, hitting the balmy beaches of Freeport, The Bahamas on her way to meet her Sisters. Following the big day, she will then make her way back to Miami, stopping at the Mexican port of Progreso and Virgin’s private beach club – Bimini – on the way.

7 nights from Miami – 14th-21st February 2027

Resilient Lady will be embarking on a week-long voyage, kicking off on Valentine’s Day in the party city of Miami then hitting the balmy Freeport in the Bahamas before sailing toward her sisters ready for the celebration to begin. She will then continue, stopping Progreso, Mexico and Virgin’s private beach club at Bimini before heading back up to Miami.

BRILLIANT LADY

10 nights from Miami – 8th-18th February 2027

Listen, sometimes you really need to take some time to yourself, to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just let loose for a while. If this sounds like you, you might want to book onto this 10-day voyage aboard Brilliant Lady, for some extended self-care. Departing from Miami, this cruise will take you on an island-hopping adventure through the lush ports of Philipsburg, Tortola and St Croix before pulling into San Juan just in time for Valentine’s Day. From there it’s party time at the Sisters at Sea Rendezvous, a relaxing day at Bimini and then back up to Miami.

SCARLET LADY

5 nights from Miami – 15th-20th February 2027

For something short and sweet, you’ll want to consider this little five day jaunt aboard Scarlet Lady. Setting sail from Miami, she’ll dive headfirst into the action and cruise directly to the Rendezvous point, where her Sisters will be waiting. After all, you may as well kick things off with a bang. The trip end on a more relaxed note with stops at Freeport and Bimini planned as Scarlet Lady sails back up to Miami.

VALIANT LADY

7 nights from San Juan – 13th-20th February 2027

Just like her Resilient sister, Valiant Lady is set to cruise the Caribbean for a week, departing from San Juan rather than Miami. Guests can look forward to exotic ports like Samaná and Grand Turk, where activities like zip lining, catamaran cruises and local food tasting await. None of that will be as exciting as the day she meets up with her Sisters, however, following which she’ll return to San Juan, calling at Cabo Rajo on the way.

So, to recap: the idyllic islands of the Caribbean in February (a.k.a. an escape from dreary winter weather), a major event set to make cruising history, one of the biggest parties ever seen at sea and a guest appearance from Richard Branson himself?

Yes, we think these sailings could be pretty popular. To secure your place, give one of our friendly cruise connoisseurs at all or else click here to find out more about Virgin Voyages.
