Why I’m Now a Yacht-Cruising Person
My Time Aboard Emerald Sakara: Why I’m Now a Yacht-Cruising Person

I didn’t think I’d ever be someone who talks about “yacht-style cruising,” but here we are—because after spending time on Emerald Sakara, I get it. Completely. This trip felt different from the moment I stepped onboard. No crowds, no chaos, no rushing… just calm, comfort and that feeling of this is exactly where I’m supposed to be.
The first thing I noticed? How quiet it was — in the best possible way. Instead of thousands of people lining up for everything, it was just a small group of us and the crew who somehow knew my name immediately. The whole ship felt like a boutique hotel that happened to float around gorgeous coastlines.
I spent a lot of time on the deck just watching the water, sipping champagne. Meals never felt rushed, people were friendly without being overbearing and for once, I felt like I was on a vacation instead of navigating a floating city.
On a small yacht like Emerald Sakara, you get:
· Space to breathe — even though it’s smaller, it never feels cramped.
· More personal service — it’s amazing how different it feels when the crew actually knows you.
· Access to smaller ports — and honestly, that’s what makes the whole experience special.
I didn’t feel like a tourist being herded around. I felt like I was traveling.
Ibiza Old Town: Not What I Expected (In the Best Way)
When someone says “Ibiza,” you think clubs, DJs, and beach parties. But the Old Town? Completely different vibe.
I wandered up through the steep, narrow streets, stopping to take a ridiculous number of photos because every corner looked like a postcard. The stone walls, the views over the harbor, the little shops tucked into unexpected spots — it was charming in that “I could live here for a month and be very happy” kind of way.
I didn’t rush. I didn’t feel like I had to. I just let the place unfold around me.
E-Biking in Castellón de la Plana: Surprisingly One of My Favorite Days

I’ll be honest, I was a little wary of the e-bike excursion. I pictured myself sweating while everyone else zoomed ahead. But it ended up being one of the highlights of the whole trip.
We biked through countryside that felt peaceful and wide open, with orchards, rolling landscapes and just enough hills to appreciate the “e” in e-bike. It was fun, relaxing and a totally different way to experience Spain than wandering a city center.
Plus, it felt good to do something active after all the great food onboard.

This trip on Emerald Sakara made me realize that yacht cruising is exactly the kind of travel I want more of, slower, calmer, more personal and full of moments that actually stick with you.
If you’ve ever thought cruising wasn’t your thing… it might just be that you haven’t tried it this way yet.
