Silversea Announces Silver Spirit Refurbishment

After more than 15 years traversing the globe, Silversea’s luxurious Silver Spirit has accrued scores of fans worldwide—all of whom will be no doubt thrilled to hear that she is set for a major refurbishment.

Over the next couple of months, Silver Spirit will be in a dry dock, receiving several highly anticipated enhancements which will put her in line with the rest of the fleet. One such enhancement is the addition of the line’s famous S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste) programme, which is currently only available on Silver Moon, Silver Dawn, Silver Nova, Silver Muse and Silver Ray.

S.A.L.T. is an award-winning culinary programme offering a range of experiences which reflect the culture and traditions of different destinations through an epicurean lens. In keeping with the rest of the fleet, Silver Spirit is set to feature three different venues: the S.A.L.T. Kitchen restaurant, for destination-focused dining, the S.A.L.T. Bar for locally inspired spirits and cocktails, and of course the S.A.L.T Lab, where guests can enjoy hands-on culinary experiences through a stacked lineup of workshops and classes.

Aside from the addition of S.A.L.T. facilities, guests can also look forward to refreshed public areas, namely the Venetian Lounge, which is due to be revamped with new drapery, carpeting, upholstery and an LED wall. Elsewhere, the Zagara Beauty Spa has already received new chairs and beds and the Fitness Centre is set to follow suit, with upgraded equipment including an AI-powered Amp fitness device, programmed with over 500 guided workouts. The only major change scheduled on the accommodation side is the addition of 12 new Medallion and Classic Veranda Suites, which will come furnished with spacious bathrooms, king-sized beds and sweeping private balconies.

Line president Bert Hernandez said: “With each ship’s revitalisation, we are thoughtfully reshaping the future of our onboard experience to introduce new concepts, expand our guest favourites and continue elevating the way our guests experience the world. Silver Spirit’s transformation reflects our dedication to creating rich journeys for our guests—giving them more space, more comfort, and a deeper sense of immersion onboard and across every destination.”

Silver Spirit’s refurbishment is the latest step in the line’s standardisation of all their Muse-class vessels, following the multi-million-dollar dry dock of Silver Muse. The move is part of a wider strategy to elevate Silversea’s onboard experience in line with growing demand for culinary, design and experience-based excellence in the ultra-luxury sector.

Following her makeover, Silver Spirit is set to embark on a series of sailings through Northern Europe, taking guests from the Shetland Islands to Oslo to Copenhagen and beyond. Off the back of that, she will set sail on the 50-day Grand Voyage Mediterranean, an in-depth exploration of this sun-drenched region set to hit 40 destinations across 12 countries.
