Norwegian Fjords adventure!

Here is a run down of everything we did in each port during our bucket-list trip.

Lerwick

At this port there was no docking space for such a large vessel so a tender was required. The tender boats hold 150 people! So there was a lot of waiting but it was incredibly well organised and was a seamless process!

Lerwick itself is a lovely quaint little village with cobbled streets, many shops, a Whiskey distillery and a small castle. It is suitable for all types of passengers as no one couldn't love this location as it has some nice scenery which you can also see from the ship!

There are a variety of excursions available for you to do when you are docked in this port but we chose to just get off and have a look around at our own pace.

Alesund

This destination is a big town typical of Norway with small harbours, stunning scenery and plenty to walk around!

I personally think this port is great for all ages. You can disembark the ship here and once you have left the terminal straight outside there is the option to buy tickets for the Hop on, Hop off buses or the noddy train plus other trips like a boat trip to feed the Seals which i definitely recommend.

We got off the tour bus at one of the stops and walked through an incredible woods and up a hill to a viewing point where the views were magnificent and could be seen for miles, there was snow in the mountains with clouds floating past and stunning greenery with the little wooden coloured houses spaced out all around.

We saw the famous Trolls outside some of the shops just close to the port where you can purchase some souvenirs.

Flaam

What an absolute hidden treasure this place is!!

Flaam

From the moment the ship started sailing through the Fjords which tower above at each side is absolutely stunning, calm, tranquil and is quite amazing how something as big as this ship that holds over 6,000 passengers can glide through so peacefully and quietly respecting the whole nature of this magnificent destination.

At the Port itself are some souvenir shops, local eateries, park benches and grassy areas for young families to sit and relax and just take in the breathtaking views. There is also an opportunity to go on the Kayaks.

We opted to go on an excursion which was a train ride from Flam which I would highly recommend if you would like to go up the mountains and see some spectacular views and the most magnificent waterfalls which is truly amazing how they just fall so powerful in all their glory.

I can honestly say this is my favourite port I have visited for natural beauty and stunning scenery!

Zeebrugge

There was a market here and a tram that runs through in case you wanted to go further a field and quite quirky buildings with plenty of coffee shops and bars to try the famous Belgium Beers!

Just outside the port was a shop selling Belgium chocolates at very reasonable prices for people to purchase and take home including other trinket souvenirs.

A great stop for everyone to enjoy with or without children.
