One of our favourite itineraries is the Alaska sailing with Cunard onboard Queen Elizabeth which takes place on the 20th of July 2025 for eleven nights.

Here is an in depth explanation of the once-in-a-lifetime itinerary.

Your journey starts in the bustling city of Seattle where you will enjoy a one-night pre-cruise stay in a centrally located 4* hotel before embarking on the ship. Seattle sits on the gateway to Canada and is a well known social hub for both tourists and locals. 

Whilst you stay in Seattle we recommend booking on to a guided walking tour to explore some of the culinary delights found in the city, discover the various art galleries and museums, or even take a hike through the National park and capture the breathtaking views.

The next destination on your voyage is the scenic city of Sitka. This quaint little city has an abundance of activities for adventure lovers including, fishing, hiking, kayaking and wildlife spotting for you to enjoy. Sitka is also the home to the Alaska Native Heritage Center meaning it’s the perfect place to delve deeper into the state's Native culture and history. This city will definitely surprise you, as its landscapes are breathtaking, the atmosphere is calm and tranquil plus it’s not incredibly touristy!

Day 5 will be spent discovering the largest yet most sparsely populated state in the US, Alaska. The state is primarily covered by forest creating a picturesque landscape perfect for keen photographers and wildlife lovers. The state is home to the tallest mountain in South America, Mount McKinley alongside more than half of the world's glaciers. So why not explore the plethora of national parks, alpine ranges and river valleys during your stop.

Juneau is nicknamed the state’s scenic capital because of its magnificent mountain ranges, natural beauty and sightseeing opportunities. Juenau has an authentic traditional charm and a unique local culture that you can experience firsthand. If you are an adventure enthusiast then this destination is perfect for you. Why not, explore the Nordic Trail loop, kayak on the Mendenhall Lake, go whale watching or even take a helicopter glacier trek! 

Juneau

Day 7 is spent exploring the depths of Skagway. This popular holiday destination is located at the northernmost point of the Inside Passage and is the main port of call for cruise ships. The heart of Skagway is the historic district where the wooden boardwalks lining the restored building recreating the original appearance of many of the houses. Take a look at the plethora of scenic tours and hiking trails available in the traditional city.

Snow capped mountains, majestic glaciers and impressive icebergs are found in this beautiful destination. Glacier Bay is home to an array of wildlife that you can experience first hand. The most popular excursion to do in Glacier Bay is whale watching! Boat trips are available to book on to allowing you to capture the magnificent experience creating unforgettable memories.

Ketchikan is next on the list during this luxury voyage, known as the salmon capital of the world. Ketchikan has more cultural sightseeing opportunities than most cities and towns in Alaska, making it the perfect Alaskan getaway for those keen to experience indigenous culture as well as the stunning natural landscapes of Alaska.

Known as the city of gardens, this location offers guests a calm and tranquil atmosphere where they can relax on the beautiful waterfront. Due to the location of Victoria there are many excursions you can take part in for example whale and dolphin spotting on a thrilling zodiac trip, a cultural tour of the city's history or even a local culinary tour.

The last destination on this bucket-list itinerary is Seattle, the city prides itself on friendly locals and has even been rated as one of the world's most liveable cities creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests to explore the hidden gems of the city.
