Oceania Cruises Unveils 2028/29 Season
Is there a better feeling than looking at the calendar and already having next year’s getaway sorted? How about the following year? And the year after that?
If the idea of having years of cruising to look forward to appeals (and let’s be honest, why wouldn’t it?), you might just want to dive into Oceania’s 2028/29 itineraries, which were unveiled last week. The collection comprises more than 230 voyages worldwide, spanning between 7 and 180 days and featuring over 60 overnight stays. Both seasons have been released in tandem to allow guests maximum planning time and increased opportunity to secure the accommodation, ship and itinerary of their dreams.

Dive into these itineraries and you’ll find the perfect blend of dynamic city adventures in hotspots like Lisbon, New York and Tokyo and off-the-beaten-track gems, an assortment of charming towns, majestic ruins and breathtaking natural beauty spots so obscure, you haven’t even thought to add them to your bucket list.
“This new, expansive collection reflects our passion for immersive travel opportunities and offers guests the chance to explore a little further with more depth thanks to more than 60 overnight stays,” said Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises. “Launching sailings for 2028 and 2029 underscores our commitment to giving guests and travel advisors the confidence and time to plan the journeys that truly matter. From the historic harbours of the Mediterranean to the remote fjords of New Zealand, each sailing reflects our belief that the world’s greatest destinations deserve to be experienced, not simply visited”.
HIGHLIGHTS
Overnight Stays
Picture this: you’ve just arrived in an incredible new port. The sun is shining, you have a list of things you want to see as long as your arm. Everywhere you look, a new surprise awaits. A bustling market to peruse, a gallery to wander around, a beach from which to enjoy the perfect sunset cocktail.
But wait.
You have to be back at the ship in a few short hours, or else it will sail away without you. Looks like you’re going to have to trim down that ‘must-see’ list…unless you’re on one of Oceania’s new itineraries. For the 2028/29 season, the focus is on extended stays in places like Bali, Copenhagen and Seville, plus as many overnights as possible, enhancing the guest experience and maximising time spent in each port. Late-night departures and overnights have long been something of an Oceania hallmark, but this is an entirely new level of flexibility and immersion.

Oceania Aurelia
2028 sees the inaugural voyage of Oceania Aurelia and it’s safe to stay she’s off to a flying start with an 180-day Around The World cruise. Setting sail from Miami, Aurelia will take less than 500 guests on a global odyssey, wrapping things up in New York. She will then do it all again in 2029, this time beginning in Los Angeles.
Winter Mediterranean
The Mediterranean occupies top spot on the list for many a traveller, though many are turned off at the prospect of blistering heat and heaving crowds. Oceania Allura offers a solution, however, with her very first winter Mediterranean season scheduled for 2027. It seems that Oceania are looking to make this a permanent fixture, with off-season sailings announced for both 2028 and 2029, taking guests on a more relaxed journey through Italy, Greece, Turkey, Spain and more! In fact, these new voyages mark Oceania’s most diverse Mediterranean season yet!

REGIONS
Caribbean & Beyond
Dreaming of paradise? Oceania Vista and Oceania Sonata have you covered, with a fabulous selection of Miami roundtrips, extended voyages through Mexico and Central America and even jaunts through the Panama Canal.
Europe
As well as the aforementioned Mediterranean adventures getaways, the 2028/29 also features sailings through Northern Europe, including Scandinavia and the Baltic regions.
Would you rather…
A summer of Greek island hopping or the trekking the rugged terrain of Iceland in winter?
The glitz and glamour of the French Riviera or a cosy afternoon exploring Copenhagen’s festive markets, mulled wine in hand?
Or…all of the above? With Oceania’s European itineraries, there’s no need to choose.

Asia
When exploring Asia, you’ll find a new sought-after destination around every corner—and Oceania Marina and Oceania Riviera are set to explore them all. One of the key focuses for 2028/29 is guiding guests down the road less travelled, to ports like Kagoshima and Miyazaki, which bigger ships simply cannot access. Of course, the schedule is also packed with fan favourites, including Tokyo, Bangkok and Komodo Island.

Canada and New England
Those who prefer their journeys soaked in history and just a touch of autumnal splendour will want to check out these sailings, traversing everywhere from the Bay of Fundy to Prince Edward Island to Quebec City. Here, flame-hued foliage meets colonial architecture and staggering natural beauty—who could refuse?
Australia and New Zealand
Long the stuff of wistful dreams and ‘maybe someday’, the jewels of Australia and New Zealand have never been so accessible as with Oceania’s upcoming sailings, hitting popular cities like Melbourne, Auckland and Sydney as well as more rural locations like Picton and Milford Sound.
Transoceanic
Also in the schedule are several repositionings, offering extended journeys at sea and plenty of time to enjoy the ships’ fantastic amenities. These include an Auckland to Rome crossing, as well as a 15-day Canary Isles passage from Lisbon to Miami.
