Atlas Ocean Voyages To Debut in Asia and Africa with Atlas Adventurer

With just a few days to go until Atlas Ocean Voyages opens bookings for their next generation vessel, Atlas Adventurer, some exciting new details have been made public. Trust us when we say that this is a launch you’ll want in your calendar.

Fitted with three carbon-fibre masts and solid sails, Atlas Adventurer marks a brand-new ship series for the line. Set to debut in 2028, the ship will also boast wind-assisted battery power and a hull reinforced to Ice Class 1B certification, allowing her to navigate the globe ‘with confidence, efficiency and refined performance’ and comply with zero-emission restrictions and silent running capabilities.

Atlas Ocean Voyages has always been driven by innovation,” said Mario Ferreira, chairman, founder and owner of parent company, Mystic Invest Holding. “These advancements highlight our ongoing commitment to sustainable and innovative tourism, while also expanding the destinations we can explore and enhancing the onboard experiences our guests expect. Atlas Adventurer represents the next evolution in responsible, highly technological, comfortable and safe yacht design”.

Atlas Adventurer will accommodate a maximum of 400 passengers, all of whom will be ensconced in luxurious all-suite accommodation. Suites will range in size from the entry level 290 square feet to a staggering 1,385-square-foot Owner’s Suite and have been designed to echo the Golden Age of travel. Every last detail – from the mahogany fittings to the hand-finished metal accents to the unmistakable influence of the Art Deco movement – is a callback to the 1930s and all part of Atlas’ quest to provide ‘a significantly expanded onboard experience’.

Indeed, the enhanced suites barely scratch the surface of everything this fantastic new vessel has to offer, with lounges, eateries, pools and wellness areas all expanded so as to offer guests even more space and flexibility whilst on board. Though dining is often perceived as an afterthought when it comes to expedition cruising, Atlas have made it the star of the show, with not one, not two, but seven venues to choose from, as well as an all-new interactive culinary studio. Elsewhere, guests will find five different lounges and social spaces as well as two outdoor bars, perfect for sipping cocktails, socialising with new friends or simply taking a quiet moment beneath the stars.

However, whilst it’s easy to get caught up in all this luxury, it’s important to remember that at its core, Atlas Adventurer is exactly what the name suggests—an expedition vessel. Therefore, it will also come equipped with Zodiacs and luxury motorboats for excursions, as well as a marina platform providing easy access to the ocean.

Yet perhaps the most exciting thing we have learned about Atlas Adventurer is that she will mark Atlas Ocean Voyages’ debut in both Asia and Africa. Previously, the line have sailed Antarctica, the Arctic, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and South America, but Atlas Adventurer’s maiden voyage – a ‘Far East Mystique’ itinerary embarking from Kobe, Japan – marks a new chapter for the line.

“This inaugural season is a defining moment for Atlas Ocean Voyages,” said James A. Rodriguez, president and CEO of Atlas Ocean Voyages. “With Atlas Adventurer, we are introducing entirely new destinations while staying true to our ethos of delivering deeply immersive, culturally rich journeys. These voyages are designed for discerning travellers seeking both discovery and refinement in some of the world’s most compelling destinations”.

New itineraries include a 9-night Panoramas and Pagodas sailing from Singapore to Bali, a 12-night Shinto Shores and Samurai Legacies Kobe roundtrip and a 13-night Island Treasures from Bali to Manila. Beyond that, she will explore Africa with stops in Madagascar, Kenya and South Africa, before wrapping up her inaugural season in Athens, Greece.

“This new Atlas-class sailing yacht represents the next step in our growth,” said James A Rodriguez. “It allows us to expand our destination footprint into regions our guests have been asking us for, while further solidifying Atlas’ position within the luxury expedition cruise category. As our brand continues to evolve, this vessel is a powerful expression of where we are headed: thoughtful growth, intentional design and deeper global exploration.

Bookings for Atlas Adventurer officially open on 10 June. You can find out more about Atlas Ocean Voyages here.
