The Retreat

The Retreat on Seabourn Ovation

I recently sailed onboard Seabourn Ovation and one of my favourite areas of the ship was The Retreat on Deck 12.

What is it?

The Retreat is an exclusive area on deck 12 of Seabourn Ovation & Encore with private cabanas, a hot tub and areas for alfresco dining. Its perfect for that VIP experience or to have the ultimate privacy for a day at sea.

Each cabana has been designed with luxury and seclusion in mind and is enclosed by plantation shutter style walls. They are furnished with a comfy seating area, dining table, flat-screen TV with headsets for a truly immersive experience and complimentary use of bath robes, slippers and fluffy towels. Some of the cabanas have shutters on one side that open up to the sea views and there is even one available for massages and other spa services.

What’s included?

The Retreat inclusions have been carefully curated by the expert Seabourn team who really have thought of everything. You receive a tote bag, a fresh fruit basket, premium sun lotions and Evian mist spray. Lunch is available to order from a unique menu that is exclusive to Retreat guests and prepared by separate chefs. Your dedicated Retreat concierge will be happy to bring up extra goodies like afternoon tea or a signature cocktail from the unique bar menu which contains higher-end premium beverages that are available without a fee, unlike other areas of the ship. In addition, you will also receive a $50 spa voucher which can be used in The Retreat or the main spa.

The Retreat

How much does it cost?

The price depends on if the ship is docked or it’s a sea day and cabanas can be reserved online before your cruise or with the concierge team at Seabourn Square when you board the ship. It costs $250 per cabana for a sea day or two port days if you wish to visit more than once, $150 for a singular port day or embarkation day and $130 for a half day.

The Retreat

The Retreat is a beautiful area of the ship and is the perfect place to relax and truly unwind. Thanks to its privacy, it can also be used of an evening for groups or special gatherings which can arranged before your trip.

The other pool and hot tub areas on the ship are fantastic and the general atmosphere is very chilled but there is something extra about The Retreat that I would highly recommend for the ultimate “switch off” experience.
