Oceania Cruises Announces Refurbishment For Oceania Marina

It feels like it’s been exciting announcement after exciting announcement from Oceania Cruises lately—and the good news keeps on coming.

On top of incredible flash sales, an all-new adult only policy, and new details on the upcoming Oceania Sonata, the line has just announced the ‘reinspiration’ of their popular vessel, Oceania Marina, pencilled in for the end of the year.

Set to enter dry dock in October 2026, the 1,250-guest ship will see new life breathed into her public areas and accommodation as part of this ‘stem-to-stern’ refurbishment, as well as a few additional touches intended to streamline all aspects of the cruising experience and ultimately make it even more luxurious.

The refurbishment is the latest step in the brand’s OceaniaNEXT initiative, a strategy centred around elevating the guest experience on all plains, setting a new standard in everything from design to dining to destination immersion.

“At Oceania Cruises, raising the bar is not an initiative – it is our mindset. We are constantly refining the guest experience, from elevating our culinary offerings to creating more intimate, immersive ways to explore the world’s most iconic destinations. With OceaniaNEXT, we are reaffirming our commitment to modern luxury by ensuring that every ship in our fleet reflects the refined style, attention to detail and thoughtful innovation that define our brand. This is how we continue to bring life to The Joy of Travelling Well,” said Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises.

As part of the refurbishment, all staterooms – including Penthouse, Oceania, Vista and Owner’s Suites – are set to receive a modern makeover, comprising updated layouts, brand-new furnishings and upgraded bathrooms complete with marble finishings and rainforest showers. The top-end suites will receive targeted enhancements, bringing them in line with their counterparts on other Oceania vessels.

Elsewhere on the ship, guests can expect to see improvements made to public areas including new carpets and contemporary light fixtures indoors and brand-new loungers and daybeds on the Pool Deck, all in the name of curating a modern ambience and developing a fleetwide sense of cohesion. In addition, the popular Grand Lounge – where many a cruiser has gathered to socialise, sip pre-dinner drinks and listen to live music performances – is set to be expanded, housing an all-new Founders Bar where guests can enjoy a selection of artisanal cocktails.

True to form, Oceania have also announced plans to enhance the already-impressive dining experience (after all, one doesn’t earn a reputation for ‘The Finest Cuisine at Sea’ without constantly evolving and improving). Fans of Oceania’s epicurean offering don’t need to worry—none of their beloved eateries are going anywhere. However, some of the key players, including Red Ginger, Jacques, Toscana and Polo Grill will be on the receiving end of a modern new makeover, with refreshed décor and some cutting-edge upgrades in the galley.

The space formerly occupied by the Artist’s Loft is set to become the Chef’s Studio, a space dedicated to expert-led cooking demonstrations as well an array of food and wine tastings. In a similar vein, the ship’s chic coffee stop, Baristas is up for an upgrade with the addition of The Bakery (first seen on Oceania Vista) where freshly-baked French and Italian pastries will be available all day.

Oceania Marina’s refurbishment is the next stage in Oceania’s long-term plan to bring their older vessels in line with their newer ones, evolving to meet both the ever-increasing standards of true luxury and the expectations of their guests.

Oceania Marina will enter dry dock in October 2026, with the first refurbished sailings projected for the end of the year. You can find out more about Oceania Cruises here.
