A Taste of Expedition Cruising
First Impressions
As soon as I stepped aboard Scenic Eclipse II, I was impressed by its elegant design and welcoming staff. The yacht combines contemporary luxury with comfort, with a very sophisticated feel.
The first impressions set the tone for me for the entire journey, and Eclipse certainly made a positive one for me.

Accommodation & Comfort
Scenic really takes comfort and luxury to the next level. The suites were spaciously well designed. Really comfortable beds with very annoying bed adjustment controls that I kept tripping over! Ample storage and all modern amenities made it really easy to settle in and enjoy the voyage.
The communal areas were equally impressive, offering plenty of comfortable seating, inside had much more seating than the deck area. These areas lacked any form of seating really with just a few sunbeds and a bench style seating area at the aft of the yacht. The layout, however, did allow guests to socialize or find a quiet corner to relax and take in the views.

Entertainment
Entertainment was really low key but very good musicians in the evenings where everybody gathered, and you got to know other guests who were just the loveliest of people.
Dining Experience
One of the highlights of the cruise for me is always going to be the food. I am a huge foodie and each restaurant we tried lived up to an incredible standard. The meals on Scenic were freshly prepared and beautifully presented, with a variety of options catering to different tastes and dietary requirements. Eating lunch outside on deck was a good time for just watching the coastline drift by.
The French Restaurant Lumière was one of my favorites; we opted for the 7-course taster menu with the wine pairing. This was just phenomenal with lobster and the most delicious blue cheese flavored ice-cream!
The Sushi 7 Asian Fusian Restaurant Koko’s was equally as delicious with an amazing variety of sushi and raw fish, presented so beautifully.

Sailing & Destinations
The yacht handled beautifully with its amazing stabilizers, not once did I even feel movement as you normally would on a larger cruise ship. It was a really smooth and enjoyable experience for someone like me who is slightly scared once any boat starts to rock. Our itinerary included stunning Ghent where we took a canal boat down the river and stopped for some lunch with a little free time to grab a chocolate waffle.

Crew & Service
The Scenic crew played a significant role in making the trip exceptional. Professional, knowledgeable and attentive, they ensured that every guest felt comfortable and well cared for throughout the voyage.
