Introducing The Solara Sports Deck, Brand New For Seven Seas Prestige

When it comes to red-letter days in the 2026 cruising calendar, the December launch of Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ new vessel - Seven Seas Prestige - pretty much takes the crown.

But what if we told you things were about to get even more exciting?

Last week, Regent Seven Seas announced that when Prestige sets sail at the end of the year, she will do so complete with the line’s first ever named sports deck— the Solara Sports Deck. Open 24 hours a day, guests who venture up to this space will discover a dedicated sunrise/sunset yoga area, an 18-hole putting green and a competition-sized pickleball and padel court. The deck will also feature a set of new-to-brand digital shuffleboard tables over on the covered games pavilion as well as chess, ping pong, mini bowling and more.

Developed in partnership with SMC Architects, the space has been designed as a continuation of the elegant, high-end hotel-esque ship interiors so beloved by Regent aficionados. Trust us when we say this is nothing like your local leisure centre. Instead of scuffed floors, think wooden fittings and beautifully sculpted panelling. Wave goodbye to headache-inducing florescent strip lights. Here, the whole area is illuminated by chic LEDs. And there’ll be no plastic cones and dingy sports nets here. Everything aboard Regent is top-of-the-range, and adornment takes the form of lush planters and comfortable loungers.

“When designing Seven Seas Prestige’s Solara Sports Deck and Solara Pool Deck, our goal was to bridge the gap between outdoor fitness and boutique hotel elegance,” explained Matt Fyvie, senior associate, SMC Design. “We utilised premium materials such as high-performance composite and timber-effect resin flooring, complemented by soft luxury furnishings, to create a warm, intimate feel throughout the space. Discreet, refined lighting elements were carefully integrated into the architecture to ensure a seamless transition from day to night, whether passengers are participating in a tournament at sunset or making their way to the putting green after dark, every aspect of the experience feels intentional, cohesive and fully integrated with the character of the ship.”

Aside from the aforementioned unique sports and games facilities, Prestige’s upper decks will also host the Solara Pool Deck, complete with 48-by-29-foot swimming pool set between two whirlpools, two tiers of sun loungers, the Solara Pool Grill and Bar and access to Pacific Rim and new mezze-style restaurant, Azure.

Wesley D’Silva, president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, said: “Seven Seas Prestige will raise the bar for the ultra-luxury travel experience, and the Solara Sports Deck is a testament to how we are rethinking every inch of our new ship class. Our guests value a seamless blend of active and wellness and refined leisure. By partnering with world-class architects, we’ve created a sleek outdoor environment that is as beautiful as it is functional, allowing our guests to unwind or play against the backdrop of the world’s most iconic horizons”.

Seven Seas Prestige opens the door to Regent’s new Prestige-class, the first new ship class for the line in a decade. In addition, at 77,000 gross tonnes, she will be 40% larger than Regent’s existing vessels, accommodating 822 passengers across 411 all-balcony suites. Her maiden voyage is scheduled for 13 December, sailing from Barcelona to Miami, before embarking on a series of Caribbean and European voyages. The second and third Prestige-class ships are scheduled for 2030 and 2033 launches respectively.
